Mrs Muffin's Tea Shop in Ledbury's Church Lane has entered the Tea Council's annual competition to find the UK's best spot for a cuppa.
Now staff can expect a mystery customer this month from the Tea Guild, if the teashop is to make it through to the second round of judging in May.
Bill Gorman, executive director of the Tea Council, said: "All tea places that enter have to be of an incredibly high standard already. Final nominees will be announced in May, prior to the final awards ceremony in June.
"The tea experts will be looking at criteria including flavour, strength and temperature, as well as the condition of the crockery, staff knowledge and attitude."
