Madam, Regarding the rave held in a field on the outskirts of Leominster during Bank Holiday weekend.

I, like half the town had this ruined by these mindless idiots and their thumping, monotonous noise reverberating around the town (my children agreed you couldn't call it music) throughout Saturday night, Sunday, Sunday night, until around 10am Monday morning, NON-STOP!

I rang the police at 3.00am Sunday morning, for them to say there was nothing they could do, their hands were tied!

What I would like to know is why Herefordshire Council Chief Executive, Neil Pringle, or whoever was in charge at the time, didn't just simply pick up the phone and order the power supply to be cut.

No electricity = no amplifiers = no noise = no more nuisance!

There is growing concern in this country at the increase in anti-social behaviour and the impotent effectiveness of authority to deal with it when it rears its ugly head!

Is it, as I suspect, the council were worried about repercussions regarding the 'human rights' of the people attending, and the organisers, of this rave?

Like so many other councils in the country, politicians in government and all mainstream parties in Westminster the rights of the perpetrator seem to be paramount before any consideration is given to the victim!

There has been a silent revolution in this country for around the past 20 years, where the extreme left, with their 'politically correct' ideology has manifested itself in all areas of government whether central or county level.

The judiciary too, for some years has been 'polluted' by this doctrine, for example, the call recently for even more rights to be given to burglars!

There are more than 30 charities serving the criminal. Only one serving the victim. Anti-social behaviour is on the increase along with violent and non-violent crime.

Why? Because there has been too much of a sway toward the left in trying to solve these issues & no adequate counter-balance from the right to even the argument and come up with effective solutions!

Though I wonder, if it were councillors and their families, or the West Mercia Chief Constable and his family, or MPs and their family being disturbed and their Bank Holiday ruined wouldn't something positive been done? Like, pulling the plug before the rave became a real nuisance!

Ray Borge,

Buckfield Road, Leominster.
