Hereford MP Paul Keetch says there is a crisis in the NHS dentistry service in Herefordshire.
He has tabled a parliamentary question to the Secretary of State for health asking what he was going to do about it.
Mr Keetch said that every week constituents were claiming they were unable to register themselves or their children with a NHS dentist.
"Even worse, as dental practices close or dentists retire, people find themselves suddenly without the care and treatment they have always depended on,'' he said.
Mr Keetch praised the efforts of Herefordshire Primary Care Trust in dealing with the crisis by establishing dental access centres across the county.
But he did not feel these were a long-term solution, more NHS dentists were needed and the Government must respond if they claim they are providing a health service.
He advises anyone with difficulties to get in touch with him at 39, Widemarsh Street, Hereford HR4 9EA or by visiting www.paulkeetch.org.uk
