COWS mooing and lowing instead of cars coming and going woke residents of a Hereford cul-de-sac last week.
The unusual alarm call was accompanied by a trail of manure and mayhem in gardens at Carless Close, Tupsley, as two cows and five calves went walkabout in the early morning.
Though police were called to the incident on May 27 it wasn't until a farmer came with two sheep dogs that the situation was brought under control.
Resident Roger Jones said: "It wasn't what I was expecting when I looked out of my bedroom window at 7am in the morning.
"I had just got back from Tanzania where there are cows everywhere. Little did I think I would find the same thing here."
