MEMBERS of Hereford Guild of Guides visited the Waterworks Museum to brush up their knowledge of one of Hereford's important attractions during a refresher day.
The guides were welcomed by chairman, Dr Noel Meek, who described plans to expand the museum. With the aid of enthusiastic volunteers, the guides had a conducted tour with the steam pumps in operation.
The training was in preparation for the Mayor's Guides to welcome visitors on their walks during summer.
Daily walks have commenced and will continue every day until September 30.
The walks on weekdays start at 11am, and on Sundays at 2.30pm, lasting about one and a-half hours. Tickets can be purchased at the Tourist Information Centre from where the walks start. Charges are £2 and a child accompanied by an adult is free.
The guides also provide theme walks. Leaflets advising on what is available are at the Tourist Information Centre, King Street, Hereford.
The Guild welcomes bookings from groups and wheelchair users. To obtain a booking form, telephone the booking secretary on 01432 266867.
