THE A49 was closed for five hours as all three emergency services worked to rescue two men seriously injured in a nasty collision on the Leominster side of Dinmore Hill on Tuesday.
The accident happened at 9.25am when a grey Range Rover heading towards Hereford and a red Skoda Octavia travelling towards Leominster were in collision.
The male driver of the Range Rover sustained serious head injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham, where his condition is currently described as critical but stable. The male driver of the Skoda sustained serious injuries to his arm and was taken to Hereford County Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.
Hereford Police are investigating the crash and have asked anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the accident to contact Inspector Paul Crow at Hereford Police Station on 08457 444888.
