COUNCILLOR Derek Price has become Mayor of Knighton for the fifth time - not bad for a post that has only existed for 30 years.
He was first made mayor in 1984/85 followed by further terms in 1985/86, 1995/96 and 1999/2000.
Councillor Price's record is surpassed only by that of Councillor Ralph Evans, who has been the town's mayor six times.
The new deputy mayor is Councillor Jan Harris.
