THE Herefordshire Foo-tball Association will be running an inaugural Herefordshire Floodlit Under-18 Youth League next season.

Six clubs from Herefordshire have signed up to join the 10-team competition, including three clubs from outside the county - Hay, Knighton and Llandrindod Wells.

Westfields will be fielding two sides, with Leomins-ter, Hinton, Lads Club, Ledbury and Kington also joining.

Chris Ferriday has been named manager of Hinton's newly-formed Under-18 side and he will also take charge of the club's Hereford Times Herefordshire League Premier Division team.

Meanwhile, Leominster Town's management committee were re-elected at the annual general meeting.

Chairman Mike Barring-ton told those present that the club needed to appoint a new manager for their West Midlands League Division 1 South side.

He said: "With the West Midlands League looking to re-organise its structure this coming season it is important for the town to have a team that is well run and finishes as high as possible in Division 1 South."

Les Allen was re-elected vice-chairman, Russell Freeman, treasurer, and Bill Bloxsome as secretary. Phil Lockett will run the Leominster side in the new HFA Under-18 Youth League.

Hereford Times Herefordshire League Division 1 champions Lads Club rounded off the season with a two-match trip to Portugal.

Lads Club lost 5-2 to Estoril Casino, a local Portuguese side, in their opening match and then drew 0-0 with a NATO Headquarters' team.
