WALKERS are invited to spend Sunday, June 8 exploring the rocks of Little Doward Hill with Rollo Gillespie from Herefordshire and Worcestershire Earth Heritage Trust.

It's one of a series of walks organised within the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, to help people understand and appreciate the special qualities and features of the local landscape.

The walk starts from the layby at Ganarew (grid reference 533 163) at 11am, and will last until 3pm. Walkers should take a packed lunch, and be prepared for a walk of about two miles, which will involve some steep climbs.

As well as learning more about the geology of the area, walkers will be guaranteed some lovely river views and a superb setting for their picnic. There is no charge for this event, and anyone who would like to attend can just turn up on the day. For more information about this walk or others in the series, please contact Andrew Nixon, Wye Valley AONB community links officer on 01600 710844.
