SUPPORTING services for the young and carrying on the good work of her predecessor are the priorities for new mayor of Bromyard, Pearl Briggs.
Cllr Briggs hopes to see through the creation of the town's skateboard park and to set up a youth council with its own mayor during her two years in charge of the town council.
She said: "I want to work with young people to get them motivated and involved with activities in the town. We have an awful lot going on and if the young people don't take over at some time the festivals and activities that happen in Bromyard will die.
"It is a great honour to be mayor and not something I take lightly. Joan Dauncey will be very hard to follow. She has been totally dedicated to the role and a great mayor."
