IS this an early example of the Conservatives piecrust pre election pledges to make significant savings for the people of Herefordshire?

The facts are that in April, before the elections, Hereford-shire Council had six cabinet members, each on a special responsibility allowance of £10,000.

In May, with the Conservatives in control, that increased to ten, each still on a special responsibility allowance of £10,000.

This is an increase of £40,000 from £60,000 to £100,000 or 66.6 per cent.

One could well ask if there are any other dubious doorstep promises used in the election campaign that could be shown in their true light in the coming months.
