A TEAM of 23 dental workers will be putting on their brightest smiles during the Race for Life to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The Dental Action Chicks from the Dental Access Centre in Hereford are currently in training for the event at Hereford Race course on July 20.

Assistant manager, Sarah Williams hopes the experience will enhance the girls' teamwork abilities.

She said: "We felt we wanted to do something as a team outside of the dental work environment.

"Yes, we saw it as a good fund raiser but also a good team-building exercise. We are a big department and we don't get together all that often."

Dental receptionist and administrator, Zara Clarke-Davies, is running in celebration of her mum who beat cancer many years ago.

Nineteen-year-old Zara said: "I am doing it to help other people so they may have a chance like my mum did."

Sarah Williams added: "We decided to put a team entry in for Race for Life because it was a good opportunity to get together outside of the work environment and raise money at the same time."
