Ledbury Poetry Festival organisers have reported brisk ticket sales in the countdown to the grand launch on July 4.
Exact figures are still being compiled. However, celebrity events reported to be selling particular well include Louis de Bernieres with Flute Trio and The Queen's Garland with Roy Strong and Lucy Chalkley at Eastnor Castle.
Nicholas Parsons and Marcus Moore, with The Poetry of Cricket and Poetry in the Orchard, a day out in cider country at Putley, are also proving popular.
Poetry festival director Dr Charles Bennett said: "John Hegley sold out this week, Wendy Cope is expected to sell out shortly and we have very few tickets left for Carol Ann Duffy.
"I can say that sales are well in advance of where we were at this time last year."
Other popular events appear to be the musical celebration Cycles, a mixture of Schumann and new work in the parish church and War Music, with acclaimed actor Peter Florence, in the Market Theatre. For further details, ring 0845 458 1743.
