COUPLES planning to get married at the Market House in Ledbury next year could face disappointment.
Superintendent registrar June McQuaid is still taking booking for 2004 but is warning people that because of the incoming disability access regulations the venue may have to be changed.
From October 2004, all buildings used for public purposes, such as civil marriages, should be either accessible for disabled people, or all reasonable care must have been taken in an attempt to comply with the new law.
Unless disability access is made possible by then the Market House may have to be closed.
Any changes to the building could also mean a period of temporary closure while the work is carried out.
