Herefordshire Council is considering using an industrial-type vacuum cleaner to cope with broken glass around the seats on Ledbury Town Trail.
Workers usually use hand-operated litter-pickers to deal with the shards but the town council is worried that smaller pieces could be missed.
Town clerk June McQuaid said: "These can be so hazardous to young children".
