Ledbury town crier William Turberfield, known popularly as "Bill the Bell", is to give a talk on the origins of his noble office in the days of William the Conqueror.
Mr Turberfield, of Childer Road, was not around then of course but the official Heralds of William I were.
Mr Turberfield will reveal more at the event at Ledbury Community Centre, Lawnside Road, on Tuesday (June 24), from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
He said: "The talk will be followed by a fun participation time for those willing to don the tricorn hat, give the bell a ring and shout "Oyez".
