GRAHAM Turner believes he has got the right man beside him to make Hereford United a force in the Conference next season.

First team coach and phsyiotherapist Richard O'Kelly has been a big hit with the former Wolves manager and the Edgar Street boss is looking forward to working with the ex-Walsall striker in the future.

"I have enjoyed my greater involvement in team affairs this season, working alongside Richard who has proven to be a good acquisition for the club," said Turner.

"Having talked to Richard about the future he has enjoyed his involvement and we do not plan to do anything different."

Turner's analysis of the season reflected on the Bulls' ability to take points off teams in the bottom half of the table but not in the top half.

"We had a poor record against clubs in the top which has been significant," he said.

With just three matches remaining of the current campaign thoughts are already turning to next season and the intriguing possibility of playing a local derby against rivals Shrewsbury Town.

The Shropshire side are currently struggling at the foot of Division Three with relegation a real prospect.

If they do get relegated one man relishing the match more than most will be former Shrews captain Andy Tretton.

The defender has been a huge hit at Edgar Street since arriving in the summer when he was deemed surplus to requirements at Gay Meadow. Their loss has been the Bulls gain as Tretton has established a defensive partnership with Tony James.

Meanwhile Hereford have agreed to let West Midlands Premier Division outfit Kington Town ground share at Edgar Street should they be successful in wining promotion.

Although Kington are trailing leaders Westfields by some 12 points the two sides have to play each other and Kington also have a game in hand.
