STEVE Guinan has put his recent nine-match barren spell behind him in sensational style with six goals in his last four games.

It marks a welcome return to goalscoring form for the ex-Nottingham Forest striker whose goal glut has coincided with Hereford United's four match unbeaten run.

His latest goal sealed three points against Telford United and vindicated his decision to abstain from any festive over-indulgence.

Guinan told reporters how he had prepared for today's game by keeping off the alcohol and going to bed by 9pm.

"It's not a problem for me. There is no way I can have a drop as it affects my playing," he said.

Guinan said confidence is sky high in the Bulls dressing room and has been boosted by the tremendous support given to the club.

Around 800 made the trip to Bucks Head for the Telford clash to push the gate to more than 2,000.

"The lads are really buoyant and we just can't wait now for Forest Green. We should be full of confidence," he said.

Graham Turner's side are just six points off Doncaster Rovers in second place with a game in hand and are well-placed to land a play off spot.

It marks a swift change in fortunes for the Bulls who endued a dodgy October and nightmare November when they went six league games without a win including five defeats.

The picture is a lot brighter now and Hereford's players have another feather in their caps after the Boxing Day fixtures with news they have the best discipline record in the Nationwide Conference.

United now have 29 points with Barnet just above them on 31 and Telford on 36.

However the Bulls still have both Danny Williams and Guinan on four yellows and Michael Rose will miss today's game with Forest Green as he serves a one match suspension for five yellow cards.
