GRAHAM Turner has told Hereford United skipper Ian Wright his chance will come.

The Bulls' favourite has not started the last two games but with matches coming thick and fast over the festive period will get the opportunity according to Turner.

The Edgar Street boss has also sent out the same message to Richard Teesdale, Rob Purdie and Rob Sawyers who between them have suffered a frustrating time with less than 15 starts between them this season.

Purdie has started twice with 13 substitute appearances, Teesdale seven times plus three from the bench and Sawyers, who was in the side for the first four games, has begun just one game since with three substitute cameos.

With nine goals against Woking and Barnet Turner admits the side is picking itself at the moment but insisted chances will come.

"The side picks itself and justifies retaining places after the displays against Barnet and Woking which means the likes of Ian Wright, Richard Teesdale, Rob Purdie and Rob Sawyers will be on the bench but it won't be forever," he said.

"They have just got to kick their heels for a little while longer.

"I know they want to be playing first team football but the games over Christmas and New Year do not give much chance to recover from injuries and any slight knocks so opportunities will arise.

"We have got one or two players on four bookings, one yellow card away from a suspension, so we need that squad to fall back on over these Christmas games."

One opening for the squad players comes next Saturday when midfielder Michael Rose will be suspended for the Forest Green Rovers clash.

Hereford's busy festive programme sees them in action on Boxing Day away at Telford United, followed by Forest Green at home and then the return clash with Telford on New Year's Day at Edgar Street.
