GRAHAM Turner has warned his young Hereford United side not to be intimidated by Conference bad boys Farnborough Town.

The Hampshire side had the worst disciplinary record in the Nationwide Conference last season but arrive at Edgar Street tomorrow (3pm) as many people's favourites as dark horses for the title.

Manager Graham Westley has been busy during the summer in a bid to improve on last year's seventh place and has added former Hereford player Tony Pennock to his squad.

The experienced duo of Rushden & Diamonds' Garry Butterworth and Ken Charlery from Dagenham & Redbridge have also joined the club but Westley has played down his side's reputation.

"My lads won't duck a challenge and sometimes things look worse that they are," he said.

"I think that referees heard that we play hard and took time to learn that we also play fair."

With such a strong physical presence Bulls boss Turner has told his side they must impose their game on the visitors.

"I've been looking at their side and they are vastly experienced with the likes of Charlery, Butterworth and Pennock," admitted Turner.

"You look through their squad and it is also very strong but it will be up to us to impose our game on them.

"We need to play them and not be intimidated by their physical presence.

"I think we lack a physical presence and experience but what we make up for that in is ability and mobility."

Hereford will be without Scott Voice and Ben Smith due to injury while John Grant is suspended.

Despite the youthful look of United's squad Turner is confident in their abilities.

"We've had a decent pre-season in terms of the quality of training and we've worked very hard," he said.

"We have to improve our defending but we have got some semblance of understanding at the back playing three central defenders and it has gone quite well.

"We've got a young squad of players with plenty of enthusiasm and it is going to be interesting to see how they gel and respond to the challenge of the Conference.

"Steve Guinan has signed for a year from Shrewsbury which gives us an option up front in Grant's absence."

The versatile Paul Parry looks set to start up front alongside Guinan -- a position he occupied for much of last season.

QPR striker Leroy Griffiths is set to be the main danger to Matt Baker in the Bulls goal after signing a three-month loan deal.

Formcast: Farnborough to take points with 2-0 win.
