GIVEN Hereford United's luck with injuries new physiotherapist/coach Richard O'Kelly is set to be a busy man at Edgar Street next season.

The 45-year-old succeeds Ian Rodgerson who was released in the summer, and brings with him a wealth of playing and coaching experience.

Long term injuries to Scott Cooksey, who was eventually forced to retire, and Scott Voice, were just two of players sidelined for most of the season.

However Bulls director Joan Fennessy believes the former Walsall, Grimsby Town and Port Vale striker, will be a huge asset to the club in both his roles.

"He's got plenty of experience at both West Bromwich as a coach and physio and will be a great asset," she said.

"He is here on a dual role and will be helping Graham out with coaching as well."

O'Kelly started his playing career with Alvechurch before joining Walsall where he made 270 appearances, scoring 90 goals in two spells.

In addition he also played for Port Vale and Grimsby where he was also on the coaching staff and moved to the Hawthornes when Alan Buckley became manager in 1994.

He remained at Albion until six months ago after Gary Megson was made boss and since then has been coaching at Aston Villa's Academy.

Turner is due to arrive back at Edgar Street early next week after a holiday and further signings are expected though the Bulls boss is keeping possible deals close to his chest.

Fennessy meanwhile is unhappy at the prospect of having to visit Telford United on Boxing Day for the second year in a row.

"Boxing Day is traditionally a big earning fixture so we have missed out again which is a little bit naughty," she said.
