An open-air performance of Shakespeare's A Comedy of Errors at The Moat, off the Huntley Road, raised around £2,000 for Newent and District Rotary Club charities.
Last Friday's performance by the Festival Players was well-received by a 300-strong audience, with a glorious sunset halfway through providing the perfect backdrop.
John Parrott, secretary of Newent Rotary Club, said: "We were blessed with the weather and a lot of people came to enjoy themselves in the manicured grounds."
One of the good causes to benefit will be the charity Hope and Homes for Children, which helps children all over the world.
