ROGER Moran won the 15th round of the Avon/BMTR Top Ten Challenge when he competed at Shelsley Walsh last Sunday.

The Orleton based motor-home dealer raced his Pilbeam MP88 up the 1000-yard Worcestershire track to record a time of 24.89 seconds. Deryk Young, from Yarkhill, followed with 25.20 and Scott Moran took fourth on 25.56.

Young was the leading local driver in the afternoon run-off with another second place in 25.32. Roger Moran was fourth on 25.60, closely followed by his son, Scott, on 25.61.

Bromyard driver Richard Mason won the class for historic Austin Healeys in 36.94 seconds. Jim Bassett, from Stoke Prior, was second in the 1600cc racing car class with 29.30. And Pete Bishop, from Monkland, was third in the 2000cc road sports class with 33.41.

After 16 of the Avon/BMTR Top Ten Challenge, Roger Moran is in third place with 92 points.
