Ledbury Town Council is planning to spend around £6,500 on new equipment for younger children at the town's recreation ground.
Wear and tear on the spiral slide and concerns about its condition raised by a Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents inspection, means it will be replaced, probably with a similar item.
Another ride being considered for younger children is a "pineapple whirl".
But Coun Clive Jupp has urged the council to consult local parents and children before coming to any decisions.
Coun Peter Watts said that, with so much money having been spent on the new skate park: "It's time we gave something back to the younger generation."
