Representatives from voluntary organisations are being invited to a special presentation called "Get on Board".

The event is at Harling Court, Ledbury, on Wednesday, October 1, from 6pm. It has been organised by Community First, in association with Ledbury Community Action, as part of a Home Office initiative to support good management practices in the voluntary sector.

It will be launched by Katia Herbst, of the national disability charity, SENSE, who will give a talk on creating effective committees.

Community First's development manager Hasnah Sheriff said: "There is a wide range of challenges and responsibilities involved in running effective voluntary and community organisations, including employing staff and managing finances.

"We know this event will establish a network through which trustees will be able to access advice and information."

Wine and a buffet supper will be available. Further details on 01684 580860.
