Congratulations to Herefordshire Council for at last receiving mention in Private Eye's 'Rotten Boroughs' feature.
It seems someone gave the Eye a 'management speak' reply when questioned about the veracity of the council's tendering system.
May I suggest all the burghers within the Herefords be provided with plastic safety helmets, colour-coded by tax band, so that in the event of passing under a structure upon which 'engineers' of the Hereford/Jarvis consortium are 'working,' protection is afforded from incorrectly installed full and lock nuts?
Of course, now there will be massive monetary savings from this amalgamation of engineering talent, with the resultant redundancy of council staff, we look forward to a substantial reduction in council tax bills.
