Hereford 3rd 47 pts Pershore 2nd 22

HEREFORD, with nine veterans in their side, proved too strong for Pershore who arrived with only 13 players and secured the services of Hereford's Richard Rees and Shane Hogg to bring them to full strength.

Hereford, despite trailing 7-8 in the early stages, had the better of the first period to lead 21-8 at the turnaround thanks to tries from Ben Stevens (2) and Sean Parker, all of which were converted by Lynden Day.

Stevens went on to complete a hat-trick after the interval when there were further Hereford tries from Gareth Griffiths, Bob Hill and man-of-the-match Duncan Bailey. Day added three more conversions.

Rees was among the try scorers for the visitors who maintained strong second-half pressure.
