WESTFIELDS make their debut in the Midland Alliance League with a difficult away trip to Oadby Town, Leicester, on Saturday, August 16.

Commenting on the opening match Westfields' manager Sean Edwards said: "This is a great opening game for us as they won't come any harder as Oadby reached the semi-final of the FA Vase this year and will be one of the fancied teams."

The first 'home' game for Westfields, who were promoted to the Midland Alliance as champions of the West Midlands League Premier Division, will be against their nearest local rivals Ludlow Town, at Stourport, on Tuesday, August 19.

Work is going well at their new Moor House stadium, but because it is not scheduled to be completed until the end of August, Westfields are indebted to Stourport Swifts for their ground sharing offer.

There are strict ground criteria for the Midland Alliance, and until all the facilities are in place, league matches cannot take place.

Andy Morris, Westfields' Chief Executive said: "The dressing rooms, clubhouse and boardroom are all completed and we are now awaiting the installation of floodlights and spectator stands before we can play any Midland Football Association matches."

Westfields visit Malvern Town for a friendly fixture on Saturday.
