SWIFTS U13s returned to league action after their Christmas break on Sunday but on a sticky pitch had to settle for a draw after an even contest.
LEDBURY SWIFTS U13s 1, SUTTON U13s 1
Chances were hard to come by for both sides with defences looking well in control. Swifts had a chance to go in front after being awarded a penalty for hand ball, Thomas Boyle stepped up but his kick was well saved and although he got to the rebound first his shot just cleared the bar.
Sutton soon had a chance at the other end and went in front with a well-taken goal. Just before half-time Sam Beale kept Swifts in the game with a fine save.
Swifts still struggled to get going but gradually things started to look better particularly down the left when full back Chris James started to link with Alex Kitchen. Thomas Boyle finally found some space in the box to bring Swifts level.
