Hereford United boss Graham Turner has told his players to prove their title credentials by beating lowly Leigh RMI tomorrow.

The Nationwide Conference leaders entertain the Railwaymen at Edgar Street in confident mood after pummelling Harrow for six in the FA Cup.

But Turner insists the Bulls must illustrate similar ruthlessness in the league to cement their billing as championship contenders.

"It's one of those games that if we have serious ambitions of winning the title then we must about winning," said Turner.

Managerless Leigh are languishing second from bottom with just two league wins to their name -- the last of those 10 games ago -- and they have won just once in seven on the road.

But they are something of a bogey side for the Bulls - they have yet to lose at Edgar Street in four visits.

Caretaker manager Phil Starbuck, out to land the manager's job on a permanent basis following the resignation of Mark Patterson, will be aiming to bolster his claims by grinding out a result tomorrow.

Starbuck saw his charges lose 2-0 at Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round last weekend, but is upbeat about both his and the club's future.

"We played well and didn't deserve that result," he said, "but if we build on that and continue those standards I'm very confident in the players and have no doubts in my mind that we can turn things round."

Hereford have been buoyed by the return to fitness of full back Ryan Green, who missed the Harrow match with a calf strain, while striker Rob Purdie is also back in contention.

Defender Andy Tretton is still two to three weeks away from fitness in his recovery from a thigh muscle problem but Turner has extended the loan period of West Brom's Tamika Mkandawire who has been deputising for the former Shrewsbury Town captain.

Paul Parry, who was carried off with an ankle knock at Harrow, is missing from the line up but top scorer Steve Guinan, who bagged his second hat-trick of the season last weekend, will lead the line.

FORMCAST: Hereford to win 4-1.
