JORDAN King has had his appetite for first team football whetted but admits he may have to be patient.

The Hereford United midfielder made his full debut in their LDV Vans first round victory against Exeter City in midweek leaving him eager for more action.

Bulls boss Graham Turner has told King he must be patient but ready to take his chance when it comes.

King, reaping the benefits of a return to full time training, was happy to be back in the fray though is under no illusions about the task of dislodging midfield duo Jamie Pitman and Ben Smith.

"I've managed to stay fit and clear of injury and I'm ready to take my chance when I get it," he said.

"At the moment I've just got to be patient and wait for my chance but I've no qualms about being on the bench because the midfield has been playing brilliantly all season."

"It was just nice to get a game but it took a while to get used to the pace of the game," he added.

"Exeter were not a bad team though I'm not sure if it was their complete first team."

Turner has been full of encouragement for King. Graham Turner has told me I will get an opportunity. I've been working hard in training and put in some decent performances in some reserve games and he's told me to keep doing what I'm doing and when somebody gets injured I'll get my chance."

King, who held down a full time job in Pockets Designer Clothes in Shrewsbury last season, leapt at the chance to switch to Edgar Street with a return to full time training. "I was only part time last year and with a full time job it was hard training three times a week on top of that," added King.

"Now I feel a lot sharper from training every day, I feel quicker and my fitness is a lot better."
