THE Daggers are out for Hereford United in more ways than one.

While Garry Hill's Dagenham & Redbridge come to Edgar Street on Monday night looking to upset the Bulls, rival Shrewsbury Town boss Jimmy Quinn has also aimed a few jibes at United.

Quinn is reported as saying that Hereford are "riding their luck" and are "due a fall".

The Shrews boss is also alleged to have described the Bulls as "nothing special".

A record of 37 goals in 13 games would suggest the opposite but Quinn could only damn them with faint praise.

"They're just a workmanlike side who are full of confidence at the moment," he added.

"They are just going through one of those stages where everything they touch turns to goals.

"They've got some good players but they're nothing special they're just on the crest of the wave, riding their luck and are due a fall.

"I'm sure at some stage Hereford with their very tight squad will pick up a few injuries because they haven't had any yet - they've been very lucky."

Hereford boss Graham Turner will not pay to much attention to Quinn's comments and is instead more concerned about the threat posed by the Daggers.

"They've got some very good players and will finish in a much higher position than they are at present. The television coverage will give the game some added spice and, hopefully, we will have a high attendance and a good atmosphere on the terraces."

Meanwhile Turner admits Sky's decision to televise their Edgar Street Boxing Day clash against Exeter City at 7.45pm is causing problems. "People don't realise the problems associated in putting on a game at that time, in terms of stewards and gatemen. I'm not sure how many people will tune into a match on Boxing Day at 7.45pm," he said.
