Hereford United are set to complete the loan signing of West Bromwich Albion defender Tamika Mkandawire later today.

The 20-year-old will be included in the Bulls' squad for Woking on Saturday and manager Graham Turner is delighted to have him on board.

"Coach Richard O'Kelly knows him well and he comes highly recommended," said Turner.

Mkandawire played against Hereford in a pre-season friendly at Edgar Street but didn't distinguish himself after being sent off.

While the Albion starlet joins the Bulls squad, midfielder Rob Sawyers has had his contract terminated and has left Edgar Street.

Turner refused to divulge the reasons for his dismissal and it brings an end to an unhappy tenure for Sawyers who made just 11 Conference appearances, scoring one goal since his arrival in the summer of 2000.

Meanwhile, Turner has called on supporters to be on their best behaviour for their impending trips to Woking and Northwich Victoria.

A hooligan minority has attached themselves to the club and trouble at Burton and Tamworth has sparked fears the club could end up in the dock with the Football Association.

"We've got to make sure we behave," said Turner. "We have had notification from the Nationwide Conference that Staffordshire Police are seeking an urgent meeting with a high-up official of the Conference to discuss us at both Tamworth and Burton.

"They policed both matches and want to know what the club is doing about the situation. We have given our observations and hope to be present when the talks take place."
