TABLE-topping Hereford United can expect a few pot-shots from Conference rivals according to boss Graham Turner but he's backing his side to dodge the bullets.

The Bulls are likely to be unchanged for their Edgar Street clash with Scarborough tomorrow as they bid to continue their superb start to the season.

The Nationwide Conference leaders' hot-streak continued last week with a 5-0 demolition of Farnborough Town to give them a sixth win out of seven with Ben Smith and Steve Guinan scoring their sixth goals of the season.

"Having established ourselves in top spot we're there to be shot at though the fact we scored five goals away from home last week shows we are coping with efforts to stop us," he said.

Turner revealed this week that his players had surpassed pre-season targets for their first seven games -- the targets were to concede no more than six goals, score more than 15 and a points total of at least 14.

As a reward his players roared off for a go-karting session - spending Turner's money from his August manager-of-the-month award.

Turner is gearing up for a lively encounter with Russell Slade's Seadogs who did the league double over them last season and despite numerous changes to the Yorkshire club's squad, still anticipates tough test

"We're expecting a difficult game because any side that Russell Slade puts out is awkward," said Turner.

"They haven't had the best of starts picking up a few injuries but they've brought in some new faces much like we did last season."

The Seadogs injury problems include Keith Gilroy, David Pounder and first team keeper Adam Sollitt all out.

Slade meanwhile will be hoping to avoid a repeat of last week's performance which saw them scrape a 2-0 win against eight-man Gravesend & Northfleet.

So angry was Slade at half time that he refused to let his players into the dressing room.

Turner has moved to cement a year-long deal for Sheffield United goalkeeper Ben Scott but is likely to resist adding further players at present due to financial restraints.

"The biggest problem we've got is the squad budget and it is has to be carefully monitored," said Turner.

"With no injury problems and the team playing well there are no immediate plans to strengthen.

"There will be a time to strengthen but at the moment there is nothing imminent."

FORMCAST: 3-0 to the table-topping Bulls.
