GRAHAM Turner is adamant that Paul Parry's exit from Edgar Street must not disrupt their Nationwide Conference promotion challenge.

The 23-year-old, who has signed for First Division Cardiff City, has been a key figure in the United's terrific season to date and Bulls' boss Turner recognises it's vital that Parry's absence does not deflect his side from their goal.

"We've got people to cover for Paul but the most important thing is to make sure his departure doesn't have any adverse reaction on us for the rest of the season," he said.

Parry's nine goals have helped Hereford become the leading scorers in England's five top divisions with the winger netting the vital winner in what turned out to be his last game against Stevenage Borough last weekend.

While his loss may deprive United of a potential match-winner Turner's track record for uncovering new talent (plus the initial £75,000 transfer fee that he has at his disposal) means Bulls supporters can have confidence that Parry will be adequately replaced.

Perhaps more importantly in the short term is the return of leading scorer Steve Guinan after an assessment at Lilleshall's Football Centre of Excellence revealed a weakness in the hamstring and quad muscles of his one leg.

Meanwhile long term injury casualty Andy Tretton is set to return to action for the reserves on Tuesday.

Tretton's current deputy Anwar Uddin completes his loan period from Bristol Rovers after today's third round FA Trophy clash at Exeter City.

Hereford are set for a free week on January 24 with scheduled Conference opponents Telford United in FA Cup action against First Division Millwall.
