WITH kind permission of the Dean of Hereford, the Very Rev Michael Tavinor, the symbol of Amnesty International has been placed in the Cathedral crypt.
At a time of heightened international tension, Amnesty International works to alert our consciences to the sufferings of people unjustly imprisoned, held without trial, tortured and murdered all over the world.
The new installation reminds us that Christians and members of all religions are greatly concerned about repressive regimes and dictatorships.
JUDY WOOLAND,
Amnesty International Group Chair (Hereford, Leominster and Ludlow).
