Bromyard and District Local History Society organised a visit to Peppercorn in Cruxwell Street, Bromyard, the home of Pauline and Graham Perkins on January 25. Members assembled in the Public Hall where a light lunch was served before visiting "Peppercorn" for guided tours in groups of five. Tour guide was Barbara Stewart who is an expert house detective. She had discovered that Peppercorn was much older than at first thought with some parts of the timber frame dated to the early 17th century (Jacobean) though the property had been much extended in the 19th century. Tours tended to take longer than planned as Barbara Stewart attempted to answer the many questions raised by members.

The event raised about £150 for the society. It is hoped to assemble a small team who can assist Barbara Stewart in future surveys of many interesting and historic houses in the locality.
