A Bromyard woman is hoping to spread the word to promote deaf awareness and the charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
Barbara Ward - who is severely deaf - has been giving talks about living in a practically silent world and the value of having a canine assistant for around eight years.
Barbara, who moved to Bromyard last year, is available to give talks to groups, schools and clubs within a 16-mile radius of the town. Hearing Dogs is the only charity in the UK that selects and trains dogs - mostly from rescue centres - to alert deaf people to important household sounds and danger signals such as a smoke alarm, door bell and alarm clock.
For further information, call Barbara on 01885 482920 or to find out more about Hearing Dogs for Deaf People visit www.hearing-dogs.co.uk or call 01844 348100.
