FORMER Hereford United star Paul Parry came on as a 33rd-minute substitute and plaed a part in two of Wales' goals in their 4-0 win over Scotland at the Millennium Stadium yesterday (Wednesday).
A delighted Parry said: "Only three months ago I was in the crowd cheering on Wales against Russia as they tried to qualify for the European Cup finals."
In a meteoric rise up the football ladder since his transfer to Cardiff City six weeks ago, Parry has quickly settled in and clinched his place in the national side with a 'man-of-the-match' rating in the Nationwide Division 1 fixture at West Bromwich Albion last Saturday.
He was watched by Wales manager Mark Hughes and obviously made an impression as he was selected for the squad on Sunday following the withdrawal of several players.
Parry's appearance will boost Hereford's coffers as his transfer deal with Cardiff included an additional pay-off for a Wales international.
