A reader at St Mary's, Elaine Frampton, is planning visit to Romania in September to meet a social worker funded by Newent churchgoers.
In will be Miss Frampton's second visit to the country in just two years.
She will meet a Romanian social worker who visited Newent last year and who is funded by St Mary's parishoners to the tune of £100 a month, for her work among young people.
Miss Frampton will also make contact with a Baptist minister keen to build a youth centre behind his church, at the foot of the Carpathian mountains.
