A 17-year-OLD motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a pick-up truck.

The accident closed the B4220 between Bosbury House Farm and Nash End Farm, near Bosbury, for five hours on Monday evening.

The incident occurred around 8.10pm, when the motorcyclist, who was travelling towards Bosbury on a black Aprilia GP1 125cc, was in collision with a blue Toyota Hilux pick-up coming in the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to the intensive care unit at Hereford County Hospital.

At the time of going to press, he was out of intensive care and on a normal ward, where his condition was said to be "stable".

The driver of the pick-up truck suffered whiplash and minor facial injuries.

Police, fire and ambulance crews all attended the scene, together with West Mercia Constabulary's collision investigation unit.

Diversions were put in place and lifts had to be brought in to remove the two vehicles from the road.
