Ledbury Primary School is a more colourful place, after the youngsters illustrated favourite learning topics by making some stunning batik wall hangings.

Batik expert Marie-Therese King has been coming into school to share her knowledge and skills with 350 youngsters, from Year 1 to Year 6.

The result is a number of wall hangings which illustrate recent topics, including the Caribbean and traditional stories.

Deputy head Liz Farr said she hoped the hangings would remain on permanent display in the school.

She said of the teach-ins: "They have been fantastic, and the whole school has been involved."
