YEAR seven pupils at Queen Elizabeth High School were to hear a first-hand account of the workings of Parliament from their local MP.
Bill Wiggin, MP for Leominster, was due to take a citizenship class at the Bromyard school today (Friday).
"I describe how parliament works," said Mr Wiggin. "It's an opportunity for them to find out what an MP does."
Mr Wiggin said he loved visiting schools.
"I like meeting people and just because they are young doesn't make them any different," he said.
"It's good to talk about politics and what politicians do. It helps people understand.
"It's part of a responsible politician's role to make people understand what democracy can do for them."
