Spiderman found Nemo when youngsters at the Glebe Infants' School in Newent celebrated World Book Day with a mask-making session.
All 194 children took part on Thursday, reception class pupils were thrilled with the theme of princesses, dragons, soldiers and monsters while the older children were asked to bring their favourite characters to life, working from templates.
Headteacher Lin Griffiths said: "It was a very enjoyable day. The masks are very colourful and will be on display in the school until the end of term, so that parents coming to parents' evening later this month will be able to see them."
