LUCTONIANS may well reach the final of the North Midlands Cup without playing a game after Saturday's scheduled semi-final opponents Bromsgrove pulled out, citing that they were unable to field a registered front-row.
Having been conceded first round and quarter-final home ties by Droitwich and Kidder-minster respectively, Luctonians team manager Ken Bemand was scathing in his comments.
"The North Midlands Cup is becoming a mockery and being devalued," said a frustrated Bemand.
He added: "This is the third time that we have lost a home tie, and with it welcome revenue and an opportunity for our loyal supporters to watch the team.
"There is a slim possibility that the tie will be played but, having been consistently told by North Midlands officials that the ties must take place on the scheduled dates, I cannot see this happening."
