BROCKHAMPTON Prim-ary School has revealed plans for a learning centre and outdoor classroom in its grounds.
An amphitheatre, shaded seating, willow structures, large musical instruments and story-tellers' circles are some of the resources for the school grounds featured in its Our Great Outdoors plan.
The school has raised more than £15,000 for the venture, which has the support of the National Trust, through grants and sponsorship but still needs more than £5,000 to make it possible.
Margaret Owen, chairman of the school's parent teacher association, said: "The grounds as a whole are beautiful but the school is in a rural location and there's nothing for the children to do at playtime.
"We thought it was time to turn our attention to the outdoors and raise funds for good facilities, not just for play but for education."
An Easter Show and Plant Fair on Saturday, April 3, from 2pm is the next fundraising event.
It will start with an Easter bonnet parade and the pupils will be putting on an Art Exhibition, musical and choral recitals and maypole dancing.
A car boot sale will take place in the school car park at the event. Anyone wishing to book a place for £5 should phone 01885 488987.
Any company willing to sponsor the project can contact Margaret Owen on 07968 320497.
