Ledbury and Stromstad Twinning Group held its annual meeting on Tuesday at the Royal Oak, Much Marcle.

Fifteen people attended and agreed to change the name to Ledbury/ Stromstad Twinning Association and launch a membership drive.

Group spokesman Bernard Williams said: "Two twinning events are to take place shortly. Ledbury Swifts under-16s and followers, totalling about 35, will travel to Stromstad at the end of July to take part in the Roberts Trophy tournament.

"The All That Jazz band and helpers, totalling 25, will be in Stromstad from August 24 to 28, when they will be playing in two concerts."

One will be on the Stromstad promenade with the Stromstad Community Band and the other will be in Stromstad Church.

Mr Williams said: "Both these events offer great opportunities and potential to the younger people of Ledbury and the association intends to encourage more events in the future, with a hope of bringing more Stromstad people over to Ledbury."

At the meeting, Sue Williams was re-elected as chairman with Phil Bettington re-elected as vice-chairman.

Mr Williams agreed to be the association's temporary secretary.

The AGM was followed by a skittles match and meal, attended by 22 people.
