THREE men are being sought in connection with two distraction burglaries in the Herefordshire area last Wednesday (May 19).

A dark-haired man, who claimed to be a water official, called at the home of an elderly woman in Woolhope at about 11am.

The man is thought to have been accompanied by two other men, one of whom searched the property and stole cash.

The man who called at the home of the woman is in his early 20s, of very slim build, with dark hair and around 5ft 10ins.

The other incident, which Police believe is linked, happened at a house in Brampton Road, Ross-on-Wye, at about 12.50pm the same day.

The same tactics were used and, again, cash was stolen including a jar of coins amounting to about £30.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw any suspicious activity, individuals or vehicles in the Woolhope or Ross areas last Wednesday.

Anyone with information about the incidents should contact PC Mark Herbert or DC Sue Prosser at Hereford Police Station on 08457 444888 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
