THE LETTER from the chairman of Herefordshire Conservative Future, (Hereford Times, May 20), made interesting reading.
In the last local elections I decided to vote Conservative, in the belief that the party, at last, offered an escape from the usual diet of half-truths, spin and lack of responsibility.
Now I find the promises made on my door-step and in published texts, to cut council tax and take real responsibility for local problems, were false.
The attitude of Nicholas Vaughan's letter was so reminiscent of previous administrations, it's not our fault, so please blame the previous Liberal Democrat rulers, the national government, in fact, anybody but those in control!
Do I feel let down? You bet!
JOHN HARMON, Ledbury Road, Hereford.
