HEREFORDSHIRE Motor Club rally drivers are occupying the three leading places after five rounds of the BTRDA Dunlop Gold Star Championship.
Topping the list is Llandrindod Wells based Graham Middleton with 145 points, followed by Leominster duo Theo Bengry, 128, and John Perrott, 111 - 31 points clear of the next competitor.
Other county club drivers are in the top 40 with Damian Cole (Hereford), 30th, Adrian Struthers (Dilwyn), 35th, and Nigel Griffiths (Presteigne), 37th.
Middleton and co-driver John Morgan won the Red Dragon Rally in their Hyundai Accent WRC at the weekend, closely followed by second-placed Bengry and Les Forsbrook in a Ford Focus WRC. And John Perrott and Graham Hopewell drove their Mitsubishi EVO 5 to fourth position.
Other Herefordshire club competitors are to the fore in the Silkolene 1400 Championship.
Ian Evans is second in the drivers' standings, while Justin Brooks and Mark Ammonds are second and third co-drivers.
